Todd J Pesek, MD
Holistic Physician, Founding COO, and Research Director
I was raised in the mountains of Appalachia in rural Pennsylvania, and embraced my calling of holistic health and wellness from an early age. My passion and purpose began with childhood rambles in the surrounding woods, usually with my dog and, later, my sister, exploring, and gathering comfort and learning truth from my elders and from the Earth.
These adventures blossomed into my extensive study and collaboration with traditional healers in places as far away as India and Belize, and preventive, integrative, holistic practitioners worldwide. Ultimately, we are all one global people, and we can learn much from the diversity and practice of our healing traditions.
My goal is to shed light on holistic health and wellness through timeless healing traditions—they have long helped us maintain personal health and wellness, and, most importantly, they can help us stay healthy and filled with vitality in a sustainable way, today.
I have dedicated myself to the pursuit of holistic health. We can achieve wellness through hydration, whole foods nutrition, alkalinization, and detoxification—things which an immersion into the healing plants and traditional practices of the world allow.
The abundance of the Earth is no secret to many traditional peoples, and I believe in helping others understand how living harmoniously will preserve the lives of both people and planet.
I received my medical doctorate from The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio, and completed my training in Medicine at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, St. Vincent Charity Hospital, also in Cleveland.
In addition to being a private practice physician, I am also pleased to be a Health Sciences Professor at Cleveland State University , in Cleveland, Ohio, where I teach, research and serve as Director of the Center for Healing Across Cultures. Founded by myself and several colleagues, we facilitate positive change as we research and make known traditions for the creation and maintenance of wellness, consciousness, happiness, and wisdom in the pursuit of healthier people, their communities, and our living environment.
At Cleveland State University, I teach a number of Health Science courses (all with holistic health emphases!). My specialty courses are Healing Across Cultures, Culture and Health, Environmental Health, and Complementary and Alternative Medicine, where I integrate my international research and scholarship findings in preventive, integrative, holistic health and the secrets of long life by extending classroom walls to sacred spaces worldwide.
Aside from these roles, I am also the founding CEO of Earth Healers, an innovative and socially responsible green business partnership of doctors and indigenous peoples of the Earth who work to make healing traditions widely available through herbal products and dietary supplements of the utmost purity and potency.
My numerous publications, documentaries, and academic models are designed to help others learn about preventive, integrative, holistic health and wellness, and sustainability.
I am grateful to be an international speaker who has seen many beautiful places, but one of my favorites is where I make my home in rural Northeastern Ohio just east of where I grew up in Appalachia. I continue to ramble through the woods (now with my children) to gain inspiration and be renewed by the Earth and Cosmos.
I look forward to meeting you. In the mean time, you can read more about holistic health and wellness on my HealingSpace Blog, which offers expert commentary and holistic solutions to complex personal and planetary issues in health and wellness.
